An Unexpected Meeting With The Boss

The brown-haired guy smiled in embarrassement. He seemed to feel ashamed for his comrade. She took a deep breath. That was close. It could have ended worse. She shook her head then turned to them.

"I also apologize but he´s right. We only need to talk to Kasai for a few minutes. It won´t take long. I promise."

She gave them her sweetest smile. The brown-haired guy blushed and scratches embarrassed his head. The other guy just kept glaring at him.

"Well, if you promise it won´t take long ... Ok, but don´t blame us if you get thrown out immediately or ..."

He stopped. The door behind them opened and a tall blond guy came out of it.

"What´s with that ruckus out there? Didn´t we told you not to interrupt our meeting?"

Negai continued to stare into the black haired guy's eyes. No emotion. Waiting. His attention didn't even shift when the door was opened. But he would've peeked inside to see where Kasai was, and how many people were in there.

" Again, we apologize. Don't blame the guards. There are just some things you can't control... "

That was a message to the black haired guy. He wondered if he could go now that they had a chance. Then come back, if he was hired as an offical hitman for Kasai. That meant he could probably do whatever he wanted. And he knew what he wanted to do first. At the point, he left the talking to her. She seemed to have everything handled, considering the tone and short speeches of the brown haired guy. Once again, she has lured them with her amazing beaut- charm. He meant charm.

A bit late she recognized that man and looked down hoping that he did not recognized her. She had not been able to imagine that he was also a hitman back then. Now, she was pretty confused what to do next. She stayed calm so that her "partner" could do the rest. The black-haired guy noticed her change and smiled.

"They really try to get in. I think it´s suspicious. Maybe they try to plot something ..."

The blond guy interrupted him with a gesture. He looked at her then at the guy next to her and back to her. He hesitated for a moment then closed the door behind him.

"You two, follow me."

" I'm not going anywhere, unless you're taking me to Kasai. If we plotted something, don't you think we would've already took action. We're this close to your main meeting room. We waited patiently. We could've forced our way through these two. "

Being calm was starting to get to him. He was starting to think he could just proceed to the meeting room without their consent. It was more of a waste of time to listen to these people. All of this wasn't being taken seriously. If only she fought her way through. Then they would've been in there five minutes ago. At the risk of taking action without her, he waited the blond's response. If he didn't like the answer, then he'd fight his way through. Or make no attempt at all, since they didn't have the high authority the presented. They weren't important. He has to do this. Whether or not she's following.

The blond-guy squinted then breathed out loud. Before the two of them could handle the situation he pushed them both into another room next to Kasais meeting room. He turned to her.

"I don´t know why you´re here but it´s definitely not your style taking an impertinent fool with you."

He looked at him for a moment then turned back to her.

"Do you know what Kasai will do if he get to know that you´re one of Dinos hitmen?"

What was he doing at all? She just stared at him and waited for him to continue. Of course she also hoped that her comrade wouldn´t do something stupid now. This mission was getting more and more complicated and she couldn´t even tell why.

" ... Me? An impertinent fool? "

Who was this guy, really? He couldn't help but act rash, since everything was progressing slowly after they had met up with these guards. And he hated being called a fool. It can be ignored, but he wasn't in a good mood. It seemed that the blond and the blond were comrades. It would've been strange if all her comrades were blond... Off topic. He had more anger towards the black haired one. Who knew the blond one could get on his nerves too.

" I'm excluded from this. I have no association with Dino, so let this impertinent fool finish what he started. "

He stopped, took a deep breath and turned to him.

"That´s not the point! As you can see I´m not with Dino either. If you decide on teaming up with someone you don´t know you should at least be aware of risking both lifes and that´s why I called you a fool. If you act suspicious both of you are suspicious. I should at least ask you why you´re here ..."

He turned back to her and sighed. Why was he acting as if he was her ally? She did recognize him but she did not expect him to act this way. What was he trying to do? She raised her chin and looked at him angrily.

"He is supposed to act like he wants to, just like me. And he wasn´t suspicious at all. Step aside and let us speak to Kasai or we need to get rid of you."

" Don't waste your time on him. We knew what we were getting ourselves into when we started this. "

He was about to leave, waiting for her to finish so they could both go together. Or what her decision was. The blond guy made them seem even more suspicious bringing them into a place like this. This was stalling more time. The meeting could even be over by now. It would make him even more angry if Kasai had already left. Then he'd have to spend his time finding a way to convince the people that work with him to consider him as their temporary hitman. And even more, the girl wouldn't get the information she sought.

His hand touches the door.

He looked at them for a moment and sighes. He did not thought that she would act this way. He just tried to help them. He needed to help them.

"Ok. Ok. It was my fault for insulting you. I don´t know what you´re up to but I will help this time. I owe this Dino..."

What? She didn´t get this at all. He wanted to help but he was one of Kasais men ... And what about Dino? She was too confused to say anything. It was good that he wanted to help since he knew that they don´t belong to Kasai but it could be also a trap. Well, there was nothing to lose. Not really. If they picked a fight now it was sure that it was more difficult to accomplish their goal. She looked to him trying to figure out what he was going to do.

At this point, they could use a little help. He didn't exactly understand what was going on. Wasn't this Dino guy their boss? Either way, the guy had his reasons for being there. And for the 'owe' part... Dino must have saved or helped him in some way. To their benefit, it would be wise to take this opportunity. It was a way to increase their chances of safety. But he could fight anyway. It was just her.

" ... How can you help? "

The black haired guy could be trusted a bit. If this whole thing was a trick, Kasai's people would be all over them. This guy knew her boss. And she was his 'partner' for now. If something didn't seem right, he would have to deal with him later.

Letting go of the door, he turns back to them.

So, he was about to trust him in helping us. She did saw him before but she didn´t know him. And what did he owe Dino. Well, that doesn´t really matter. She could ask her boss about this later. She stepped next to him standing at the door and waited for the blond guy to explain. He gave them a look and sighes again.

"I can´t belive I´m doing this ... whatever ... you want to talk to Kasai, right? Disturbing now is kind of difficult, especially when there are so many guards around him. I will lead you into his room so that you can talk to him without unpleasant interruptions. But ... are you sure about talking to him directly?"

He was right. Speaking to Kasai directly could be trouble. But they had a deal and she would definitely keep her promise. Maybe she could ask the blond guy about the details she wanted to know but first she would help him getting in touch with Kasai.

" I'm sure. The only reason I'm here is to talk to him. There's no other way for me to end this. "

The blond guy was useful after all. He could finally be at ease. For now. There was a possibility that this could also be a trap, but by good judgement, it isn't. He would be in the room with Kasai, regardless of how this went. And she can finally get the information she wants. The story about the blond and Dino seemed interesting. If they were still around, he would've liked to hear it. And he wouldn't forget to thank the blond, or forget him. One less enemy.

He looks at her.

" Do you want to get your information first before I speak to him? "

Difficult question. She wasn´t quite sure that he knew the details she wanted to know. Maybe she should listen to Kasai to find out. He surely knows. Yes, she would listen to their talk and then ask some questions about her purpose. Though it would be a risk since she was working for Cavallone.

"It´s ok. I´m interested in your talk to Kasai ..."

She smiled and gave him a wink.

" ... then, let´s go."

Negai smiles. It must've been her charm. He turned around and opened the door.

" Okay. Let's do this. "

As he stepped out from the room, he looked over to where they were. Like last time, it seemed less crowded. So he decided to wait for the blond guy to lead the way, like they were being escorted to Kasai. Although he was at ease, he still stayed alert. He was even thinking about getting the black haired guard back. If he was anywhere in sight.

They followed him through several halls and rooms and she totally lost her orientation. She couldn´t remember ways good anyway. After a few minutes they reached a huge door, almost like a gate but within the building. The blond guy took out his card and entered the code. Then he stepped aside and and gave a sign to do so as well.

"We will wait in here. I guess he´ll be back in a few more minutes."

It was kind of strange that he just dropped the meeting and went with them. He seemed to get her mistrust and smiled.

"Don´t worry. The meeting was almost over when you did the commotion outside. I was given the order to solve the problem."

Negai sat down, listening to them talk. He set his umbrella to the side next to him. Looking professional would help at this point. No longer on stealth mode. Turning to the blond guy, his expression remained a bit emotionless.

" Thank you. "

He looked away and waited patiently. Nothing seemed to be happening outside the door, so he could relax a little. Within a few minutes or so, Kasai would enter. And they could finally discuss his job as a temporary hitman for him. Then it would be her turn. So far the night was going well.

She looked around. It seemed that he was relaxing. Unbelievable. They were in the headquarter of a non-allied family and he was relaxing? She just couldn´t imagine what he was thinking. She shook her head. Worrying about that would be senseless now. She still didn´t know why he wanted to speak to Kasai. What if he wanted to work for him as a hitmen. It was possible that his first order was to kill or at least get her. Getting out of here then would be way more difficult. What if it was that way? Could she trust in the blond guy helping her? No. She was a hitmen too. She did many difficult missions and she never worried about something like that. But she still wanted to know. Why was he helping her. Both of them.

" By the way... "

Negai turns around to look at the blond guy.

" If this doesn't turn out right, I'll make sure to get you. "

There was no way he was going to let anything happen to them. Especially her. She didn't seem as relaxed as he was. And it wasn't that he was making a mistake out of the situation. It was better to be less tense. If something were to happen, he was ready to raise his guard. But at any moment, Kasai would walk in. Showing a sign of being uneasy doesn't leave a good impression or the type of confidence needed to build a relationship. Nothing was going to happen to them. He would make sure of that.

He looked at him and smiled. This guy was impressive. He wasn´t afraid at all though he was sitting in the middle of the enemy´s base. He also dares to threaten one of Kasai´s guardians. He didn´t seem to belong to a family yet. Probably he was a free hitmen and wanted to work for Kasai. That´s why he wasn´t intimidated by the whole situation.

"I can tell by looking at you. Don´t worry."

On the other hand, she seemed to feel quite uneasy. He just couldn´t figure out why. When he met her before she was far from uneasy. When Dino would tell her to find out some details on Kasai she would most likely get them without problems. Maybe this was the clue. Either way it doesn´t really matter. He would make sure that she´ll get out of here safely.

After that, he turned away. He felt like calming her down a bit, but he couldn't think of a way to approach it. They had only known each other for some minutes. Maybe it was better to let her handle this on her own. She was normally like that. Independent and tough. It was unusal to see this side of her. Mentioning it would give her the wrong idea about what he wanted to do. So, like always, he'd rather keep his distance.

Leaning back, he raised his head to look up at the ceiling. Waiting. He had made some room for her, in case she decided to sit near him. As some of his thoughs started to clear, his brown eyes stared blankly at the lights.

She walked around closely paying attention to not touching anything. She wondered how to face Kasai. She had no idea how to ask him and not being rude at the same time. Leaning against the wall she tried hard to think of a way. Time was passing by slowly. She draw in a deep breath and searched for his eye-contact. What was she doing? She was no little girl who had to fear Kasai or anyone else. Calm down. There is no problem at all.

"Are you sure he´ll come in here? It seems like he´s got something else to do."

Normally she wasn´t impatient but she finally wanted to get out of here.

He turned to her when she spoke. Looking at her, but not completely. The first step to comforting her may be from giving her some attention. That's what he noticed, from other peoples' behaviors. Then he looked up, closer to her eyes.

He had also wondered whether or not Kasai was busy or not. They had been staying in this room for quite some time. Kasai just came from a meeting, but the distance from here to there isn't that far. He was willing to be patient though. And he saw that she was looking for an excuse to not be there. He could help her get out of this, if she wanted to. Or sooner or later, they'll have to face what's to come.

He did not answer her question. Maybe he didn´t know by himself or he just don´t wanted to answer. She probably was too impatient. This whole situation was totally different than she imgagined it. Everything started up with him. She sighed. The problem was that she still couldn´t tell if he was an ally of hers or an enemy. She did not believed in something else between. Also, she wondered about his weapon. She couldn´t think of someone else using such an umbrella to fight. And she still didn´t know his name. Well, he was right: it doesn´t matter anyway.

Some noise outside the room made her look up. She stepped back from the wall and straightened up. There was a possibility that it was Kasai who was about to enter the room.

No response. No eye contact from her either. It was getting tense. He was just hoping everything would get settled soon so that their struggles will be over. And the blond guy probably had a good reason for his silence. It was only a matter time until something happened.

Sounds are heard behind the door. It didn't bother him though. The silence in the room helped to distinguish what, or who the person or people out there were saying. Remaining in the same position and laid-back posture, he looked straight at the wall in front of him. It helped him think better. He just wished he could hear them better. There was a strange feeling about it. It may have been the presence.

Something felt wrong. But she had this feeling from the first moment she entered the building. Strange. First, she wanted to wait for him to finish his talk to Kasai to ask for some details but now she felt like she couldn´t wait anymore. If Kasai was responsible for the disappearance of hitmen she, no both of them, were in danger. She turned to the blond guy.

"Since we have time to talk I´ve changed my mind. Do you know something about the last happenings? I mean, do you know something about the disappearance of hitmen?"

She looked at him closely to figure out if he lied to her or not. He thought about her question for a moment then turned to her.

"I´m sorry. I´ve heard about those incidents but I don´t know details. I can´t also tell if there is a connection to Kasai. It seemst that you need to ask him itself."
